Grenache Blanc
Pear, sea salt, sunshine
Old-world Rhône craft meets Washington fruit at our copper-roofed barn above the lake. In Gaelic, cairdeas means the kind of friendship worth opening a good bottle for.
Cairdeas · pronounced “car-diss” · Irish Gaelic for friendship, goodwill & alliance
We pull our inspiration from the Rhône Valley of southern France and make wine in that style using Washington fruit. What started in a West Seattle garage in 2009 found its home in 2012 above Lake Chelan — and in 2021, under the copper roof of the Cairdeas Barn.
The through-line never changed: warm hospitality, honest winemaking, and the belief that a bottle is best shared among friends.

Rhône varietals, Washington fruit, and a winemaker’s restraint. Each bottle is made in counts you can measure in barrels — and meant to be opened, not hoarded.
“Castle of the Pope” · 2022
Our homage to Châteauneuf-du-Pape — Grenache, Syrah & Mourvèdre grown on sun-warmed stones. Black cherry, garrigue, crushed pepper, and a finish that lingers like good company.
Pairs with — Lamb, wild mushroom, long conversation
the crown of the roofline · 2022
Named for the copper crown of our barn. Dark, brooding Syrah with violet, blackberry, smoked plum and a savory, stony spine. Built to age, impossible to wait on.
Pairs with — Grilled ribeye, blue cheese, a cold night
the Rhône’s golden white · 2023
Honeysuckle, white peach and apricot blossom over a cool mineral line. Aromatic and generous, yet dry and crisp — the bottle that disappears first on the patio.
Pairs with — Crab, soft cheese, golden hour

A warm urban tasting room bringing Lake Chelan to the city — same wines, same welcome.
“We joined for the wine and stayed for the people. Every release feels like a letter from a friend who happens to make exceptional Syrah.”
“The Caisleán An Pápa out-drinks bottles twice the price. I’ve stopped buying Châteauneuf and nobody at my table has noticed.”
“That copper-roofed barn at golden hour, a glass of Viognier, the lake below — it’s the reason we drive over the pass every summer.”
